FAQ

Where can I report bugs or other issues?

IR3 has been retired and is no longer being maintained. It will not be ported to Factorio 1.2.

Which other mods work well with IR3?

QOL mods (providing tools or functionality but not new content) should work fine straight off the shelf, but mods which add new content (items, recipes, technologies) may not be compatible. The following mods are known to work well with IR3, either because they were designed to, or because IR3 makes internal adjustments to support them, or because they have been patched by third parties.

Official add-ons

Utility / cosmetic mods

Third party mods that add new mechanics and change gameplay

Why does IR3 block my favourite mod?

Because it's not compatible. If you have created a compatibility patch for a blocked mod and want the block removed, or you need some sort of hook or remote interface call to help that happen, try raising an issue (see above).

What scripting support does IR3 provide for other mods?

For runtime scripting, a number of remote interface calls have been provided and are documented with examples: see control-remote.lua in the root folder. For the data stage almost all of IR's constants, definitions and utility functions are kept in a global table (DIR) and can be read or overwritten by other mods that depend on IR but there isn't much documentation: see data-stage.txt in the root folder.

Can I stream or showcase this mod on Twitch / YouTube / social media?

Yes, you can, as long as you are not doing it to generate any income. The license prohibits any use of this mod for any commercial purpose. Monetised streaming is very, very obviously a commercial purpose. No exceptions. Fun fact: this is exactly the same restriction I am operating under with some of the free-for-non-commercial-use tools and assets I used to make the mod in the first place.

Can I copy or modify this mod's assets and include them in my own published mods or other public works?

No. You do not have the right to redistribute edited versions of this mod or derivatives of any part of it. You can change or dissect the mod as much as you like for your own personal use, but you can't distribute those derivatives. See the license.
