g Humanoid enemies

During our playthrough, humanoid enemies sometimes spawn and the sniper rifles that some of them carry can quickly destroy our max level (general?) turrets and lasers if we don't get there in time to provide backup.
What would be the normal / best way to handle them? Because right now they're more annoying than interesting as having our defenses destroyed and usually dying to their massive damage and range as well isn't fun.

If there would be an option to turn them off, that would be nice to know as well, which mod causes the (underground) enemies nests to spawn (even right in the middle of our base sometimes)?

After another wave I was able to search the exact enemy name and found out that they are part of the "Big Monsters" mod and also how to change the settings for these specific enemies. Info comes from here:
