Heya,

Currently the initial support for Space Age is quick and dirty and hasn't been tested completely through. So it goes without saying - PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!

It's still advised that Factorio+ is best suited for Base Factorio 2.0 (with Quality/Elevated Rails supported).

If there's any suggestions of what Factorio+ should do with Space Age, I'm open to ideas.

Hi! Having a great time with space age so far, main problem is the weight balance of ammo in space. You can only transport one box of minigun ammo per rocket now for example. Would be great if you could tweak the weight so it's maybe like 50 boxes per rocket or something.

I found another little problem, in factorio+ the recipe for rocket fuel is pretty expensive (including explosives) but you need it in MASS quantities for your rocket building. Also the Factorio+ rocket fuel won't work in many jetpacks/vehicles. Would it be possible to revert this recipe back to vanilla? (Or maybe a Space Age compatability patch?

Can you let me know what vehicles/jetpacks it cant work with? It's a fuel so if it uses it as a fuel, it should work (unless it's a bespoke mod)

And how much fuel is required in a rocket for space age? Is it considerably smaller?

Edit: It seems like it's using the base game rocket part for space age, which is considerably smaller. (since you are sending only 1 in vanilla to win, and a lot more in Space age as it's a useful commodity so it's considerably less.)

The main problem is the cost of rocket fuel for the rocket part, vanilla rocket fuel is 10 solid + 10 light oil. In F+ it costs explosives, jet fuel and (plastic?) and the crafting energy is much higher. With that recipe it's also pretty hard to send rockets from other planets!

I'm unaware of everything in SA, but letting me know of these issues really helps.

I'm in the process of adding alumina bacteria processes in the same gleba vein so that you can produce bauxite.

From my side, it's a little difficult as I've not played through it, so I'm mostly going from player feedback!

I currently don't have a concrete one compiled (haven't gotten to the "space" stage yet) but from looking through the factoriopedia I have some basic notes:
Vulcanus is somewhat unaffected, it's based around using metallurgy with its Foundries which results in a recipe for Low Density Structure that skips the aluminium cost (simply a different craft, using its molten metals). One "oddity" being that Foundries lose their belt/underground/splitter crafting access (same recipe as normal), which makes them somewhat moot outside Vulcanus.
Fulgora seems like a 50/50 between not caring or having some catastrophic issue, to be discovered.
Gleba has already been gone over here, with the lack of aluminium being problematic for it, but I believe everything else can be made to work there.
Space Platforms themselves probably simply do not care, albeit the rebalance to gun turrets and their ammo might result in a harder or easier early space travel between the first trio. The Piercing damage type doing full damage to asteroids might just result in some rather silly builds, or not matter at all in the end.
Unfortunately I don't have enough info about Aquillo and later to be able to judge yet.
I'll make sure to drop by with anything more specific I encounter. I'm also playing with a group, so once we hit the space stage we should start encountering everything for the first 3 planets at once.

There doesn't appear to be a way to make rocket fuel on Fulgora (due to no coal for explosives). It isn't really an issue since you can bring it from other planets or make it in orbit with later tech, but I think you could get stuck there due to this.

Agree, worries of permanent stuck on other planets bothered me for a long time.
