Extremely Fluffy is a modpack. It installs the ten fluffy_penguin material
mods, the twelve BZ mods in their Factorio 2.1 legacy versions, and trikop's
Bismuth and Manganese. The legacy versions are Morganni's forks of Brevven's
mods; BZ Library comes with them. The pack turns on the BZ mods' optional
extra content. The material mods use BZ metals, chemicals and machines in
their production chains, and supply materials back to BZ recipes.
Factorio 2.1.23 or later. Base game only: disable Space Age and Quality.
Every legacy BZ mod excludes Space Age. You still need to own Space Age,
because Phosphorus and Radioactive Elements use spoiling.
Start a new game. Expect more buildings and production steps than in the base
game, including alloy making, chemical treatment, crystal growth and isotope
processing. The pack itself adds no recipes. It changes eight startup
defaults and adds Milestones sections for the BZ mods, Bismuth and
Manganese.

How the material mods use BZ
The material mods have their own BZ integrations. BZ supplies inputs and
machines for the added processing stages; the material mods also add alloys,
chemistry and electronics to BZ's recipes. Some connections are required
steps and others are alternative recipes unlocked by research.
The table describes the legacy BZ versions included here, with the pack's
startup defaults. It does not include Krastorio 2 or Space Exploration routes.
| BZ material or machine | What it does in the material mods |
|---|---|
| Tin and lead | Antimony makes Babbitt bearing alloy and antimonial lead. The alloys go into bearings and lead parts, including Caesium sorter shielding and Neodymium separator linings. |
| Noble Metals mainboards | Antimony adds one phase-change memory per four mainboards. Processing units that use those boards inherit the memory through them. |
| Zirconia and tungsten | Antimony uses zirconia in annealing chambers and process heaters; the heaters also take tungsten plates. |
| Silicon solar cells and silica | Cadmium keeps the silicon solar-panel recipe and adds a separate thin-film recipe with cadmium telluride and silica. Both make ordinary solar panels. |
| Coke, graphite and hydrogen chloride | Cadmium uses coke in its reduction charge, graphite in impregnated filters, and graphite and hydrogen chloride in plating electrolyte. |
| Tin ore, silica and alumina | Caesium sorting recovers tin ore and silica; carbonate processing recovers alumina. |
| Titanium, graphite and tungsten | Caesium clock chambers use titanium and a graphite getter. Ore sorters use tungsten for their X-ray anodes. |
| Natural gas wells | Caesium well treatment also works on BZ natural gas wells. |
| Noble Metals CPUs | Gallium adds one semiconductor package per CPU at fabrication. Processing units using those CPUs receive their packages through them. |
| Alumina and silica | Gallium can recover either from purified mineral residue with acid and water. Aluminum processing can also yield mineral residue. |
| Foundries | Gallium arsenide is made in a suitable BZ foundry; Neodymium casts magnet-alloy billets there before making magnets. |
| Aluminum alloys | Magnesium becomes the alloying metal in aluminum 6061 and 2219. |
| Silicon and silica | Magnesium uses silicon in prepared silicothermic charges and offers magnesiothermic silicon production from silica. |
| Chlorine and titanium | Magnesium's titanium Kroll route chlorinates ore, reduces the chloride with magnesium, and returns most of the magnesium as magnesium chloride. |
| Chlorine and zircon | Magnesium's Zirconium Kroll process turns 10 zircon and 10 magnesium into 30 zirconium sponge and 9 magnesium chloride, using coke and chlorine. Chlorination also returns silica. |
| Alumina, platinum and tungsten | Molybdenum uses alumina in catalyst preparation, platinum in rhenium catalysts and tungsten in superalloy. |
| Foundries | BZ foundries make Molybdenum's dry alloys. Each electric foundry also takes two molybdenum oxide for its heating elements. |
| Hydrogen chloride | Neodymium uses it to leach monazite into rare-earth liquor. |
| Aluminum 6061 and carbon fiber | Neodymium uses both in its wind turbines. |
| Palladium, zirconia and alumina | Neodymium's optional dysprosium-doped capacitor recipe makes 15 capacitors instead of 10 in the same time. |
| Coke, silica and chlorine | Phosphorus uses coke and silica in prepared furnace charges, and chlorine to make chlorinated phosphorus for solvent production. |
| Silicon and Noble Metals CPUs | Phosphorus makes doped silicon for the CPU chain. |
| Gold ore | Tellurium's gold telluride roasting makes gold ingots and tellurium residue, with silver and bismuth ore as byproducts. Its research follows both Tellurium processing and Gold processing. |
| Lead and tungsten plates | Radioactive Elements uses lead in hot cells and gamma chambers, replacing part of their concrete. Tungsten replaces the concrete in daughter generators. |
The family connections still apply: phosphorus combustion heat can run
Magnesium's heated evaporators; Gallium supplies crystal products to Caesium;
Cadmium filters recover more rhenium in Molybdenum's roasting; and Tellurium
and Bismuth supply thermoelectrics. Bismuth also supplies Radioactive
Elements' polonium targets. Manganese's mangalloy goes into several family
buildings, and its bismanol into Neodymium's motor recipes.
BZ extra content
The pack sets these eight startup defaults. Each remains editable in
Settings → Mod settings → Startup.
| BZ mod | Startup setting | Pack choice | What it turns on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silica & Silicon | Enable more intermediate recipes | Yes | Silicon wafers, solar cells and silicone as extra production steps |
| Lead | Add more items and entities | Yes (also BZ's default) | The lead expansion bolt and the lead chest |
| Foundry | Add refractory recipes (experimental) | Yes | Foundry recipes that use refractories to get more plates |
| Graphite & Diamonds | Enable carbon black | Yes | Carbon black as a byproduct, mainly used for plastic |
| Graphite & Diamonds | Reuse grinding grit | Yes | A chance to get diamond grinding grit back in recipes such as low density structures |
| Tin | Enable more intermediates | Tinned cable & Bronze | Tinned cable and bronze |
| Tungsten | Enable more intermediates | CuW | Copper-tungsten alloy |
| Zirconium | Enable cermet | Yes | Cermet, made from ceramics and metals |
Factorio keeps a stored startup value when a default changes. If you have
already run these BZ mods, your old values remain until you change them in
Settings → Mod settings → Startup. Installing the pack does not overwrite
them. You can also turn the extras off there.
Milestones
If you use the Milestones mod,
the pack adds three sections:
- BZ: 27 key items, from lead plates to graphene, in research order.
Milestones' own BZ sections only load with Brevven's original mods, not with
the legacy versions in this pack. Silicon wafers and cermet are left out
when their BZ extra content is off. - Bismuth: bismuth plate, bismuth glass and solder.
- Manganese: manganese plate, bismanol and mangalloy.
Each family mod adds its own section too. New maps get the sections automatically. On an existing save,
press Reset in the Milestones settings and confirm to add them; this also
discards your own edits to that list.
Recommended and optional mods
Factorio installs recommended (+) dependencies by default; you can disable
them.
| Recommended mod | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Milestones (1.5.2+) | Track progress; the pack adds BZ, Bismuth and Manganese sections, and each family mod adds its own. |
| Flare Stack | Burn surplus fluids; recommended by Molybdenum. |
| Valves | Overflow valves for fluid networks; recommended by Molybdenum. |
Optional (?) dependencies are opt-in:
| Optional mod | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Elevated Rails | More rail layout options without Space Age. |
| Factory Planner (2.1.21+) | Plan production chains and machine ratios. |
| Rate Calculator (3.4.2+) | Inspect production and consumption rates in a build. |
| Factory Search (1.15.0+) | Locate production, consumption and stored materials. |
| Bottleneck Lite (1.4.1+) | Spot machines waiting for inputs or output space. |
| Informatron (0.5.0+) | Read integrated help, including Antimony's workshop guide. |
| Even Pickier Dollies | Move machines; scripted machines are untested. |
Starting a game
- Disable Space Age and Quality, install the pack, and review the BZ startup
settings before starting a new map. - Leave room around the starting area for extra production districts and
foundries. - Start surveying for Caesium before you need it.
- Give the salt works tank storage for the night.
- Plan phosphorus handling before a large stock builds up.
- Keep a seed reserve before you expand wafer production.
- Use Factoriopedia, or the optional Factory Planner, to follow the combined
recipes.
