So, I know space pipe's purpose. And I know that the other types of pipe are crafting ingredients in more complex products.

The brass pipe says nothing interesting, but the steel pipe claims to "support greater pressure". Is there any functional difference between the pipe entities, or is this leftover text?

With the 2.0 fluid changes, I think that's mostly leftover. Though some types still have longer undergrounds.
