Obviously this would be sensible, and the current only use for calcium chloride is both chemically silly and useless.
But the lack of balance on my accessible world with holmium and no limestone is absurd. I'd have to void the majority of the holmium gained from core mining in order to refine the rest, and there is simply no use at all in mining the ore deposits. Also the cost in imersite of holmium is too high - the cost being largely logistic.
Yeah there should be a 2 in the title.
OK, so after playing on a bit at scale, I can safely say that the limestone dependence of holmium is just broken - even Nauvis can't satisfy the thirst, and it's impractical to need to set up a limestone planet just to get holmium at scale. I also have multiple warehouses full of useless calcium chloride for one warehouse of exported holmium. Also note that there is no way to get productivity into the chain since calcium uses the raw ore. We don't need a lossless way to recycle it, but we do need a way to recycle it.
Also, calcium should be able to be sent via delivery cannon.
