Please remove radioactive damage from uranium, it's annoying and doesn't make the mod any more interesting
Sure it's possible to disable it via commands but having such an annoying feature enabled by default only harms the first experience players have with the mod

I disagree. it's fun and novel and if you hate it as much as you say, just disable it. no need for you to spoil the fun of others just because you don't like a feature.
it's also not nearly as difficult to deal with as you think if you know how.

Raw uranium, and uranium ore patches fine, whatever. Dealing with nuclear fuel and feeding your portable nuclear reactors fast enough to not die is annoying. If there was a way to automate feeding fuel to your or vehicle equipment then it would be a good incentive to do so, but since there isn't it basically requires a ritual of saving game before touching the fuel. This IMHO goes against the spirit of the game, which is "automation".

A better move on this one would be to make it not hurt you while it's in your hand, but still kill you if you carry it around or stand in it. Or, offer heavy casings, a further processed version of nuclear fuel with steel & glass or something, that doesn't hurt you.
