I've been automating the science and was ready to retrieve copper eggs to make the processing units for rockets. I've been able to capture a nest and build a platform around it, but I do not see a way to use inserters to feed the nest or retrieve from it? There's no energy generation placeable on wooden platforms, and even diesel inserters won't work as the barreling machine requires electricity too?

Even if I did unlock the fluid tanker, I'd still need the pump, which would need electricity.

Am I forced to wait for the overseas large power pole? Just a simple tip is all I need, or an example photo if possible.

idea is that you have to look for islands that are next to nests
so you can drag pipes, and belts on wooden platforms
and then use diesel inserters to get eggs and feed spawners.

You can also place gun turrets on platforms so you can even have backup system for recapturing nests if you are out of food or something

yeah. I have not thought about it but yeah. Does not egg spoil in these inserters?

I think using diesel inserters for this purpose is better (though kind of tricky to set up), as liquid fuel is more plentiful and doesn't try to kill you : )
