g Wind Turbine breaks balance

I know that I dont need to use Wind Turbines, but since it there, i used them from early to mid game. At the moment with 5k Wind Turbines working solo.
Result in that is Biter evolution is near 0% (i play at Default settings), due to now using Steam power.
It ruined game's threat.

This is nothing new. There is a long thread on the official factorio forum where infinite power through solar panels is discussed.
Most people are incapable of understanding, why infinite energy is a game design problem in a resource based game.

Ye, but Krastorio's creators made Wind Turbines on purpose. DId anyone tested it? It feels OP since frist look.

Since matter and energy are not interchangeable directly solar power isn't a design problem. In fact if it weren't for their UPS benefits I think most megabases would run on nuclear in vanilla factorio as building thousands upon thousands of solar panels and accumulators is much more of a pain in the ass than setting up nuclear power.

And nuclear is just way cooler than those endless fields of solar for a megabase.
Wind turbines are really inefficient in resources and space compared to their power output.

5000 Wind turbines produce 100000kw
112 Steam engines produce 100800kw

Wind (16 iron plate, 3 Copper plates) = 80000 iron plates 15000 copper plates

Steam (23 iron plates/per engine) = 2576 iron plates
+ (5stone,4iron plates/ per boiler) = 280 stone 224 iron plates

But you can decide if you want to use them or not, I don't really understand people complaining about a such a thing. If you feel that it is unbalanced to have 5k wind turbines, then just don't build them. Nobody is forcing anyone to do it.

It's not infinite. Solar panels and accumulators are very expensive to buy. And to increase power output, you need to build much more solar panels and accumulators compared to increate the power output of steam engines or nuclear.

And then there's also the "if you hate it, don't build it" aspect.

it would be nice to have 'advanced' wind power with more powerful wind turbines and ability to put them on water as well.

Yeah I like the visuals, a large wind turbine would be nice. The larger one could also fluctuate in output (wind doesn't blow at a certain speed all the time), so that it is not just constant free power, but requiring accumulators or other backup power sources. Right now I use them mostly for self contained outpost with a sentinel or to power an offshore pump.
