g [generaly works, will add better compat in future]Other sea mods?

I'm in the process of setting up for a new playthrough and stumbled across your mod, and I have a couple questions. You mentioned that you tried Dredgeworks (and On Wayward Seas, and not mentioned but I assume Dredgeworks: Frozen Reaches falls into the same category) and didn't like that it changed progression on some planets... so is it a "decide for yourself whether you want to use it or not" situation or is this mod designed in such a way that it is best to not use it at all? I have them downloaded but have not actually played with any of them yet.

Also, you mentioned in the changelog (but not the main page) that it should now be compatible with both Ironclad mods, but what about other sea-based mods? Specifically, Distant Shores and Steamship Reloaded? I think there's a couple more but I can't remember them off the top of my head. I don't know how to make fancy text-that-is-a-link so I'll just copy/paste the links themselves here in case you're not familiar with them. Distant Shores: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/pirateship ... and Steamship Reloaded: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/steamship-reloaded

Hi
I did not test this planet with dredgeworks , frozen reaches and on wayward seas
And they are not intended to be used together with planet
As for steam ship and distant shores, a have a plan for steam ship.
I did not tested distant shores

Give me few hours i will see what i can do
But in general:
- Dredgeworks (both) should work somehow but they were not tested togeather with planet
- On Wayward Seas changes gleba generation with intention to use ships but you won't have access to them untill you finish gleba. I will check if they are at least playable. But On Wayward Seas and Pelagos are 2 different approaches for ship planet, soo i will probably end up recomending one of 2 instead of both.
Wayward Seas says that is "Gleba for people who don't like gleba" and Pelagos builds on top of gleba mechanics
- steam ship and distant shores are quick and easy addition

Give me a moment i will check how they interact

Okay, it should be playable out of the box.

  • Steam Ship and Distant Shores are not part of the Pelagos or cargo ships tech tree, so they work. I will embed them in the tech tree later.
  • Dredgeworks and Dredgeworks: Frozen Reaches load fine. Dredgeworks even generates copper and iron patches on Pelagos. I’m not sure if that’s good. The ore should generate on islands, so it might be too frequent if we add Dredgeworks.
  • On Wayward Seas also loads, and you should have some access to Yumako and Jellynut fruits, so it should be playable without ships but it will be harder.

Thank you for your very fast response. I really like the concept of Pelagos, a planet specifically built to utilize the Cargo Ships mod (which I had to seriously tweak Nauvis during game creation to even use), so I think I'll only add Steamship and Distant Shores since they apparently don't change anything you've built here. I'm looking forward to what else you have up your sleeves for this mod.

I added distant shores as required dependancy
Galleon is intended as early game option or help if you stuck before getting sealant
It will also be usefull after adding enemies and support for "any planet start"
