Factorio HD Age: Modpack

This modpack bundles all of the Factorio HD Age mods for the Base Game and the Space Age DLC. It doesn't contain any content itself. It only references to the other Factorio HD Age mods as required dependencies. A total of at least 13 GB of VRAM is recommended.

g [Closed] 20 GB vRAM recommended?

What percent of players have that? <0.1%? Maybe tone it done to 12GB so the mod is useful to a lot more people?

The only way to reduce this would be to omit a corresponding number of textures. This is possible for everyone by using the mod package variant (Factorio HD Age Modpack (all optional)), in which all mods are optionally integrated and you can choose the mods that are important to you.
The recommended VRAM cannot be changed in any other way, because doubling the height and width of an image means quadrupling the number of pixels and the required VRAM. Furthermore, recommended does not mean that you cannot use the mod with less VRAM, but then you run the risk of frame drops when textures have to be loaded from the swap buffer.
Also, if you think about it the other way around, I would be flooded with messages if I only recommended 16GB VRAM, but then there would be frame drops.
But you made me think of something I need to look at to minimize the risk of dropping frames when you have less VRAM.

Video memory or VRAM?, If the rtx 3080 is 10GB, and 32gb of RAM, can I install?

Video memory = VRAM (Video memory, also known as video random access memory (VRAM))
No, 10GB is not enough for everything, it will lead to heavy frame drops. I would recommend Factorio HD Age Modpack (all optional) and suggest you play without all enemy mods, railway and elevated rails.
If you still experience frame drops, the next step would be to disable the military mod for the base game and then gradually disable all terrain texture mods (Gleba > Nauvis = Vulcanus = Fulgora > Aquilo).
Conversely, if all goes well, you can add the other mods one at a time.
In both cases, I would appreciate feedback here on what worked for you, so that others can use it as a reference and I can give more specific advice for future questions of this kind.
