Celestial Weather Next

Static weather and visual effects for vanilla and modded planets: sandstorms, snowstorms, rain, dust, ash, fog and energy sparks. Every effect can be toggled in the mod settings, and most have their own particle amount, speed or color.

This is Celestial Weather and Celestial Weather Additions in one mod, for Factorio 2.1. Planets that are not installed are simply skipped.

Coming from Celestial Weather (2.1 Fork)? Remove it: this mod already includes it and will not load next to it. Setting names are unchanged, so your settings carry over.

Features

Vanilla planets:

  • Vulcanus: ash, acid rain from the sulfuric acid vents, fire particles.
  • Fulgora: sandstorms with fog.
  • Aquilo: snowstorms with fog.
  • Nauvis, off by default, as vanilla keeps it clear: turn on any of rain and lowland fog over the lakes as on Gleba, falling leaves in forests, pollen over grasslands, golden sunsets and dawns, and wind gusts. All of it uses vanilla graphics and sounds.

Modded planets:

  • Moshine: sandstorms with fog, fire particles.
  • Corrundum: sandstorms with fog, acid rain.
  • Muluna: dust.
  • Lignumis: rain.
  • Snowstorms on Frozeta from Secretas, Lemures from Dea Dia and Nix from Metal and Stars.
  • Paracelsin: a volcanic winter: black ashy snowfall and a planet that is always dark, which sets it apart from other frozen planets and fits its 0% solar power. On by default at the request of the Paracelsin author; turn it off for the plain snowstorm.
  • Muria: acidic fog with magenta spores from the acidophile lichens, and green acid clouds.
  • Rubia: much stronger wind, with fast particles that match its 300 km/h wind speed.
  • Vesta: thicker fog and clouds, so the edge of the sea of clouds looks diffuse instead of abrupt.
  • Pelagos: tropical color grading and slight caustics on the water surface.
  • Panglia: teal clouds and dust, fog over the zones of sped-up time.
  • Rabbasca: clouds, fog, dust and magenta sparks of the planet's energy field.
  • Cubium: clouds and blue energy sparks.
  • Igrys: orange starlike particles and dust.
  • Khemia: magenta starlike particles and dust.
  • Carna: plasma fog and sparks (work in progress).

Known issues

  • Adding the mod to an existing save may make the fog move much faster. It is harmless.
