It can be good to offer some redundancies to players when you want your challenges to be elsewhere. I didn't want players to feel there's only one way to get the base resources (for example, you can choose to use copper as is, or make molten copper, but then you need to either take calcite manually from rocks, or automate it from space) because I want to get you to what's really interesting, the computers and stuff
I like the automate from space approach. I usually have a platform hover above that does nothing but grab ice asteroid chunks, turn it into ice and calctie, then stores the calcite but throws the ice overboard. Liquid copper is super useful, and I didn’t know about sulfur reduction. I had made an automated scrap separator like I did on Fulgora. I really like how this planet is a miss-mash of all the (good) planets. There’s the spoilage and grow mechanic from Gleba. There’s the scrap mechanic from Fulgora, and there’s the liquid iron mechanic from Vulcunus. I also like how you introduced new mechanics that are similar to other mods, like the upgrading of AI cores in the AI trainer ring thing. Without circuits it’s almost impossible to automate getting to 10, which I really like when I get to flex my circuit mastery. The data learning mechanic was really cool too, I don’t think vanilla Factorio Space Age has anything like this. Must have mod.
