Getting a working car feels unnecessarily hard:
The car tech (automobilism) is locked behind Logistics 2 (for unknown reasons) and Fuel.
Fuel is locked behind Oil Processing which requires walking to some crude oil deposit.
Fuel production requires light oil or solid fuel + hydrogen. Light oil and hydrogen both require chemical tech to unlock.
Suggestion: move the "Advanced oil processing" recipe (but not the cracking recipes) up to the "Oil processing" tech item to allow some form of fuel production without chemical tech. This way, researching Automobilism is enough to actually get a working car.
Suggestion: remove the dependency on logistics 2. I think it's there for progression in vanilla, but the dependency on fuel production is sufficient here.
