Cerys

Fulgora's moon of puzzles. Ancient wrecks embedded in thick ice can seemingly be repaired, including a colossal nuclear reactor that could transform the possibilities on the surface... if you can get it working. Cerys is a complete and polished mod that does not modify the vanilla game in any way, so is easy to include in existing saves.

g PlanetsLib error on drop

Hi,

When dropping to Cerys for the first time, I encountered the following error:

The mod PlanetsLib (1.16.3) caused a non-recoverable error.
Please report this error to the mod author.

Error while running event PlanetsLib::on_cargo_pod_started_ascending (ID 10)
PlanetsLib/scripts/cargo-pods.lua:119: attempt to index field 'planets_lib' (a nil value)
stack traceback:
PlanetsLib/scripts/cargo-pods.lua:119: in function 'examine_cargo_pods'
PlanetsLib/scripts/cargo-pods.lua:193: in function <PlanetsLib/scripts/cargo-pods.lua:145>

What could be the cause of this error?

This is a PlanetsLib crash. I talked with several experienced developers and we didn't come up with any good theories for how a user could trigger this error without either hacking the code of the mod or typing something very strange in the ingame console.

You can workaround this crash for your game by, I am told, Ctrl-Clicking the 'Load' button when you load your save the next time. Even better, if you find reproduction steps, I would be very interested to know.

And I want to clarify that it's ctrl-clicking the 'Load' button not the 'Continue' button
I say this because I've had someone confuse the two before, and It's easier to assume people will make that mistake and clarify beforehand

The easiest way to confirm it's happening, is to make a save with a replay, and then ctrl-click load into it and see the engine report that "Replay saving has been disabled as the user forced prototype changed loading mode."

Hello,

Ctrl-clicking did not resolve the error (it still recurs any time I attempt to drop to Cerys). I have not altered the code of any downloaded mods, and the only commands I have used in the console so far have been to add items to my inventory and to force research certain technology that would not research automatically.

I will attempt to replicate this error in a new save later.

could you include your savefile?
