Changelog

Version: 1.2.3
Date: 2026-09-09
  Changes:
    - Version 1.2.2, ported to Factorio 2.0.
Version: 1.2.2
Date: 2026-09-09
  Features:
    - The Ingredient amounts window has a Minutes field at the top. Every ingredient is
requested for that many minutes of crafting, and changing it resets the amounts below.
Each amount can still be set on its own.
  Changes:
    - Ingredient amounts default to two minutes of crafting instead of one, and are no longer
      capped at one stack.
    - The planner warns when the ingredient amounts need more slots than the ingredient chest
      has.
Version: 1.2.1
Date: 2026-09-09
  Changes:
    - Version 1.2.0, ported to Factorio 2.0.
Version: 1.2.0
Date: 2026-09-09
  Features:
    - Recipes with up to 10 ingredients can now be looped. Past 5, each machine is fed from two
ingredient chests, each taking half the ingredients. With medium poles the loop may need
an extra pole column beside some machines to reach the added inserters.
  Changes:
    - The inserter under each recycler now takes anything above its own quality instead of
listing the ingredients it must leave alone. Same behaviour, one filter slot.
    - The message for a recipe with too many ingredients now says the limit.
Version: 1.1.1
Date: 2026-09-07
  Changes:
    - Version 1.1.0, ported to Factorio 2.0.
Version: 1.1.0
Date: 2026-09-07
  Features:
    - The circuit limits now live on a constant combinator inside the loop, so you can change
the minimums and the maximum in place without placing a new blueprint. To lift the
maximum in place, type a big number: a C row at 0 stops the loop.
    - Switching the combinator off pauses a loop that has a maximum. A new "Start paused" option
in the Limits window places it switched off, handy while bots are still bringing the
modules. Without a maximum the switch only removes the reserves, so leave it on.
    - Two lamps and a display panel show what the loop is doing: blue while it runs, green when
the output chest is full or the loop is paused, and the panel's icon is visible on the map.
  Bugfixes:
    - Fixed that a reserve could drop below its minimum by up to one inserter hand. The
minimum on the combinator now includes one hand size per column of that quality, and
the inserters that draw from the reserve are held to that hand. A new "Hand size" field
in the Limits window lets you change it.
Version: 1.0.3
Date: 2026-08-30
  Changes:
    - Version 1.0.2, ported to Factorio 2.0.
Version: 1.0.2
Date: 2026-08-30
  Gui:
    - The buttons in Build options now line up in one column (better aligned now).
Version: 1.0.1
Date: 2026-08-29
  Changes:
    - Version 1.0.0, ported to Factorio 2.0.
Version: 1.0.0
Date: 2026-08-29
  Features:
    - If the chosen item supports productivity modules, the planner now mixes them
with the best ratio to boost output (see: https://wiki.factorio.com/Tutorial:Quality_upcycling_math).
    - A new sub config frame allows you to configure manually the ratio of productivity modules.
    - You can now configure the quantity of columns for each quality tier to boost output.
  Optimizations:
    - Planning loops with extra modded qualities and high column counts is now much faster
(generating a loop with 8000 columns was reduced from 750s to 5s).
    - Changing modules, ratios or circuit limits no longer re-solves the pole layout.
  Gui:
    - The planner now shows stats of how many items and how much time are required to produce
1 item of the target quality (works better on 2.1 with dedicated native API functions).
    - The stats show the machine and recycler counts, hover over them to see the footprint.
    - Warnings and errors under the planner now get their own lines.
  Bugfixes:
    - Fixed that the first click on a picker could trigger a layout re-solve.
    - Fixed that editing circuit limits did not update the planner's warnings.
    - Fixed that planning could freeze the game re-solving poles forever on a beaconed plan.
    - Fixed that a recycling recipe listing the same ingredient in two rows was refused.
  Changes:
    - Releasing for Factorio 2.1.
Version: 0.6.7
Date: 2026-08-27

  Changes:
    - Version 0.6.0, ported to Factorio 2.1.
Version: 0.6.0
Date: 2026-08-26
  Features:
    - Circuit limits: you're now able to configure a minimum reserve of lower quality items to keep in the loop.
    - Circuit limits: you can also configure the maximum of items to produce (so the loop stops when limit is reached).
    - Lower quality items now stay in buffer chests by default instead of requester chests
(so they can be used by construction robots (uncheck "Use buffer chests" to keep the old behavior)).
  Gui:
    - The Place button now works while the Settings or Limits window is open.
    - The chest and module pickers are named for their jobs now: Ingredient, Stock, Relay,
Output and Overflow chest, and Final machine module.
  Locale:
    - Reworded the planner's labels, tooltips and messages to be shorter and clearer.
  Changes:
    - Releasing for Factorio 2.0. Version 0.6.1 is the Factorio 2.1 build of the same change.
Version: 0.5.1
Date: 2026-08-22
  Changes:
    - Version 0.5.0, ported to Factorio 2.1.
Version: 0.5.0
Date: 2026-08-22
  Features:
    - Upcycler Planner is now able to build beaconed layouts with a configured module.
(you need to check the "Show all build options" setting to see the beacon module selector)
    - Beacons can now stack: a selector beside the beacon pickers chooses how many each
tier gets, up to what fits inside the loop. Extra beacons add no width.
  Gui:
    - The build options are now organized inside groups: Transport, Chests, Modules,
      Beacons and Power.
  Changes:
    - Releasing for Factorio 2.0. Version 0.5.1 is the Factorio 2.1 build of the same change.
Version: 0.4.5
Date: 2026-08-20
  Changes:
    - Version 0.4.4, ported to Factorio 2.1.
Version: 0.4.4
Date: 2026-08-20
  Features:
    - Loops that aim below the highest quality now build an overflow chest.
  Optimizations:
    - The planner window responds faster. Changing an option now designs the loop once
      instead of twice.
  Changes:
    - Releasing for Factorio 2.0. Version 0.4.5 is the Factorio 2.1 build of the same change.
  Bugfixes:
    - Fixed the game freezing when you picked a very high quality with a mod that adds many
tiers. The longest loops are now around thirty times faster to design.
    - Fixed that the target quality list stopped after 32 tiers, hiding the higher ones
      added by large quality mods.
Version: 0.4.3
Date: 2026-08-20
  Changes:
    - Version 0.4.2, ported to Factorio 2.1.
Version: 0.4.2
Date: 2026-08-20
  Features:
    - A keyboard shortcut opens the planner: Ctrl+U by default.
Rebind it under Settings > Controls > Mods.
  Optimizations:
    - The planner designs loops faster. Most noticeable in the planner window with many
quality tiers or large modded machines.
  Changes:
    - Loops are narrower again. The planner no longer leaves an empty column in front of
every machine for the electric poles. Poles now go wherever they fit inside the loop.
    - Releasing for Factorio 2.0. Version 0.4.3 is the Factorio 2.1 build of the same change.
  Bugfixes:
    - Fixed that pressing E while choosing a machine or item placed the blueprint instead
      of confirming your choice.
    - Fixed that the settings window could open far away from the planner after the planner
window was moved. Settings now sit attached beside the planner and move with it.
Version: 0.4.1
Date: 2026-08-18
  Changes:
    - Version 0.4.0, ported to Factorio 2.1.
Version: 0.4.0
Date: 2026-08-18
  Major Features:
    - The planner now gives you a blueprint instead of a placement tool. You can see the whole
loop before you place it, move it around, and rotate or flip it.
  Changes:
    - The three chest pickers are now hidden. The planner uses the biggest chest you have
researched. Tick Show all build options in Settings to choose them, or to set their quality.
    - Pressing E in the planner window now does the same as clicking Place.
    - Undo takes the whole loop back in one step.
    - The blueprint stays in your hand after placing, so you can stamp the same loop again.
    - The blueprint disappears when you clear the cursor.
Drag it into your inventory instead if you want to keep the design.
    - Releasing for Factorio 2.0. Version 0.4.1 is the Factorio 2.1 build of the same change.
Version: 0.3.1
Date: 2026-08-17
  Changes:

    - Inserters and chests can now be configured in the build options too.
    - The top machine's module can now be configured in the build options too.
    - A new setting, 'Show all build options', brings every hidden selector back.
  Changes:
    - Build options with a single choice are now hidden. Enable them in the settings window if
you want them back, quality boxes included.
    - The pipe selector only appears for a recipe that takes a fluid, and only when there is
more than one pipe to choose from.
    - Releasing for Factorio 2.0. Version 0.3.1 is the Factorio 2.1 build of the same change.
Version: 0.2.1

For now only recipes with a single fluid ingredient can be looped (more than 95% of vanilla recipes).
  Features:
    - A pipe picker in the Build options strip chooses what fluid plumbing is built from.
  Changes:
    - Electric poles now stand in a dedicated column before each machine.
    - Belt-stacking inserters, such as the stack inserter, are never planned into the loop.
    - Releasing for Factorio 2.0. Version 0.2.1 is the Factorio 2.1 build of the same change.

    - Releasing for Factorio 2.0. Version 0.1.2 is the Factorio 2.1 build of the same change.
  Info:
    - Space Age was already needed to play, through the dependency on Quality, so nothing changes
      for existing players.

    - Releasing for Factorio 2.1. Version 0.1.0 is the Factorio 2.0 build of the same mod.
Version: 0.1.0
Date: 2026-08-16
  Major Features:
    - Initial release.
    - Pick an item and target quality, configure the loop, and place the whole thing as ghosts.
    - Quality modules fill machines and recyclers below the target; the top machine gets productivity when allowed.
    - Build options: belt, quality module, electric pole, and whether chests trash unrequested items.
    - Machines, recyclers, modules and poles can each have their own build quality.
    - Supports modded recyclers with different sizes and eject directions.
    - Electric poles planned for full power coverage and wired into one network. Higher-quality poles need fewer placements.
    - Selectors default to the best researched option and remember your last pick.
  Info:
    - The shortcut appears once recycling is researched.
    - Fluid recipes are not supported yet.
    - Red messages disable Place; orange messages are warnings you can build through.
