Stone Water Well (ZarSasha's Fork)

Adds a deep stone well to the game, which provides easy access to fresh water. A Factorio 2.1 improved port of the mod "Stone Water Well" by TheDogOfChaos (original author: bSun0000). There are sensible restrictions as to where the well can be built, but planets can still be whitelisted through a startup setting.

Stone Water Well (ZarSasha's Fork)

A continuation of the beautiful mod Stone Water Well by bSun0000, on the basis of the updated fork by TheDogOfChaos. It has been ported to Factorio 2.1 and improved upon in many small ways, according to my preference. (For details on that, read the changelog).

Features: The mod adds the deep stone well, an entity meant to extract groundwater from anywhere on land. It is essentially a 5x5 offshore pump that does not need to be placed next to a fluid source, but can also only produce water. It can be unlocked through research fairly early on, at the same stage as landfill. The pumping rate can also be freely configured, and in regards to Space Age, surface restrictions can be lifted for planets through a whitelist in startup settings.

Balancing: By default, the well produces water at a rate of 1200 units/s, which is the same as that of the offshore pump. To provide some semblance of balance and realism, the well has a rather expensive recipe, particularly in regards to stone. In Space Age, it is entirely restricted from being built in space (technically anywhere with gravity less than 1 m/s²), and can normally only be built on Nauvis and Gleba.

Compatibility: With Pyanodons Coal Processing installed, the technology for well construction becomes available much earlier and at a much lower cost (unlocking the recipe would otherwise just take too long, and most of the prerequisite technologies made no sense anyway). In Space Age, the planets Lignumis, Panglia and Foliax from their respective mods are already whitelisted by default.
