Intelligent Enemy

by plexpt

Enhance the enemy AI with smarter and more challenging adversaries, similar to Rampant. This mod does not introduce new enemy types or increase enemy attributes; it solely focuses on improving the intelligence of existing enemies.

g Request for More Details on Your AI Enhancement Mod

I hope this message finds you well. I came across your mod, and it looks intriguing! I noticed it focuses on enhancing enemy AI intelligence, which sounds like a great addition to the game. However, I would appreciate more details about how the mod works and what players can expect.

For example:

How does the AI improvement manifest in gameplay?
Are there specific changes to enemy behavior (e.g., pathfinding, strategy, reaction times)?
Does this work similarly to Rampant AI, or are there key differences?

It would be fantastic if you could update the mod description with these insights or provide some examples to help players understand its impact better.

Thank you for your hard work on this mod! I'm excited to try it out and explore the smarter challenges it brings.

Best regards,
Angel

Mod is still in development, the goal is to make an enemy that doesn't rely on stats like health, etc, but is smarter.

They will use similar tactics to human armies.

Without this information, it’s hard to understand the value of the mod or how it stands out from others. Once other mods update, this could easily get overlooked if players don’t know what makes it unique. Sure, I could open the files and investigate myself, but the point of sharing mods is to save others that time and provide clarity.

Thanks for your interest in my Mod.
This mod aims to elevate enemy AI intelligence, offering players a more challenging experience.
Enemies will exhibit smarter diverse tactics, and quicker reaction times.
While it shares some similarities with Rampant AI, Intelligent Enemy focuses more on varied enemy behaviors and strategic gameplay. I'll update the mod description with these details for better player understanding.

Hello! I want to continue what Fallenangel019 said. Any mod that enhances the enemy AI is always intriguing.
However, as they said previously, the mod description doesn't really explain anything and it discourages me from trying it out.

Like, how different it is from vanilla behavior? What does "varied enemy behaviours and strategic gameplay" entails?
"Similar tactics to human armies" is a very vague explanation as we have thousands of years of history regarding war strategies.
"Quicker reaction times" to what exactly? Pollution? Nearby players?
There's practically nothing explained about what the mod changes.

As it is a mod that changes AI mechanics, people would expect detailed explanation of the features like in Rampant's mod page.
If language is the problem, it's fine as long as you can get the points across.

Looking forward to understand what this mod does.

Same here. Playing a whole game is a lot of effort just to maybe find out what this mod does (or tries to do).

You've answered the same question in the exact same way THREE different times. HOW are they different? What are they doing different from vanilla AI? "Smarter tactics" doesn't answer anything. What does that even mean? "Diverse tactics" tells me even less.

How is this in any way different from vanilla? Telling me it's "different" or "smarter" or more "diverse" than vanilla doesn't tell me anything of HOW it's different. How am I supposed to play differently against this AI than against the vanilla one? What tactics should I expect and how should I adapt?

You really need to explain in what way this mod is different than the vanilla one. Because I can tell you, after 20 hours of playing with it, I can't tell what it's trying to do. The only thing I've noticed is that it's 150% suicidal and will just send endless, trickling streams of biters to the SAME spot in the minefield, endlessly, for hours and hours and hours.

And biters end up in the wild, just milling about in tiny groups, completely lost at what to do.

And so far, this hasn't proven to be any more challenging, just annoying.

So, I ask again:

What is this AI SUPPOSED to do?
