Black Rubber Belts - Remastered


Reskins vanilla belts in a dark rubbery style. Cosmetic changes only. Now updated for 2.0, with compat options! All credits go to the original mod's author, Deadlock989. I'm merely reuploading and revamping the mod for 2.0. Deadlock989, if you are reading this, please contact me about options regarding the existence of this port/update.

Reskins belts with a dark rubbery theme!

Give your belts a sleek dark look with this mod. I took the time to make it compatible with factorio 2.0 and space age!
The changes are cosmetic only - belt recipes and other properties are not changed.

Originally built by Deadlock989 for Industrial Revolution 3 (rip), the mod was marked as deprecated, and forgotten...
But thanks to stubborn appreciation, it's back now!

Customizable!

Mod settings let you customize how your belts look! Current options include:

  • Arrows: tier-based arrows ; slow belt arrows for all ; fast belt arrows for all ; no arrows
  • Side rails: vanilla steel for all ; alternate material bases (IR3 metals + tungsten) ; colored rails (perfect for arrowless belts)
  • Glowing arrows and Glowing belt rails (colored belt rails only). Inspired by Belt Glow. Can be toggled on/off separately as you prefer.

More customization options (thick line, thin line...) to come later.
We're open to ideas for more customizability options!

Please let me know if any bug shows up!

Warning: This mod uses layers for belt animations and only high resolution spritesheets are provided. It is not recommended if you have a PC that struggles to render the vanilla game.


Compatibility

Compatibility with modded belt types is still WIP, but may be added as requested.

  • Bob's Logistics: Bob's basic (alt base: iron), Bob's turbo and Bob's ultimate belts added
  • Advanced Belts: Advanced, Elite and Hyper belts added - future plans: force change the belt animation logic to be that of space age's turbo belts
  • Lignumis: Wood belts added (alt base: wood)
  • Castra: Military belts added (alt base: nickel)
  • Space Exploration: Space belts added. Deep space belts remain untouched.
  • Krastorio 2 (Spaced Out): Advanced belts and Superior belts added (alt base: tungsten, to mimick immersite).
    In Krastorio 2 Spaced Out, Advanced belts are automatically replaced by Space Age's Turbo belts.

WIP features and ideas

These are features that have yet to be coded and/or added. Please feel free to suggest more in the discussion page!

  • Thick lines and thin lines from arrowless belts
  • Fix AAI Loaders icon sprites
  • Find a way to force the space age turbo belt's unique animation logic onto other modded belts (for very fast belts), so that the spaced out arrows animation works. The opposite would be neat as well.
