​Space Age Hard Mode


A modpack that tightens the gameplay of Space Age, removing shortcuts and adding interesting challenge. Each planet has significant variations. Vulcanus, Fulgora and Gleba have cargo drops disabled at first, and certain technologies are now locked behind building a small on-planet science chain. A range of other challenge tweaks are included: lava can't be piped, asteroids have quality, railguns require fluoroketone, nights on Nauvis are dark, science packs have more involved logistics…

g Would it be possible to make the cargo research cost adjustable?

When playing on a high science multiplier run (for example, 50x science) with your hard fulgora/valcanus/gleba mods, having to make 50,000 science from scratch to be able to drop cargo on a planet feels a bit extreme. It's like starting on Nauvis with research starting at 50,000. The 1,000 science cost works well when playing with no science multiplier, but it scales so much with a multiplier.

A way to adjust the cost would be nice, or simply adding the ignore_tech_cost_multiplier to ensure these researches are always 1000.
