I have a mod that enables equipment grids on trains, maybe that is causing the error...

Thanks for the report. I thought I fixed the issue with the equipment grids :( Which mod are you using?

I'm not convinced that this is actually the issue, however. Did you by any chance drive the train in remote view or something like that?

And just to be sure: the startup setting "Vehicle: Enable logistics while moving" was enabled?

Automatic train painter is adding the equipment grid (non-default startup setting), and I was driving in remote view - crashes consistently on closing GUI in remote view.
The startup setting "Vehicle: Enable logistics while moving" is disabled.

thanks for the reports! I didn't account properly for the case when the setting was disabled. It should be fixed in version 2.0.7
