Industrial Rewired
IMPORTANT
Industrial Rewired is still at pre-alpha development process and nowhere near well-balanced nor complete, which means there are possibly infinite loops and/or unbalanced production chains in this mod.
If you have any questions, you are welcome to join the Discord server (link below) or tag me at the Factorio server.
Currently this mod is partially finished (between 60% to 70%)
If you are going to try out this mod, it is recommended that:
- Turn biter OFF since military is not yet balanced
- Avoid adding other content changing mods
When you update this mod, you should understand that:
- Things may broke and expect new bugs
- Your automation setup may suddenly become worthless due to change of recipe
- Entities may get removed (I will actively avoid this)
Github repo will be set to public once the mod is at alpha release.
Since I do not check the mod discussion at portal often, you can join the Industrial Rewired Discord server here to submit bug reports or recommend things that I can response faster.
Industrial Rewired is a comprehensive Factorio overhaul mod that transforms the game into a realistic industrial simulation. This mod replaces vanilla's simplified production chains with (mostly) accurate and scientifically grounded industrial processes, creating a deeply complex and challenging experience that rewards careful planning and understanding of real-world manufacturing principles.
The mod introduces authentic chemical processes, realistic material processing chains, and accurate industrial technologies. From basic ore processing to advanced chemical synthesis, every production step reflects real-world industrial practices, making the game intensely engaging for players seeking a more realistic factory automation experience.
Before You Start
Important Considerations:
Before you start, you should understand that this mod:
- Significantly increases game complexity and completion time
- Includes scary chemical names such as "Nonylphenol Ethoxylate" or "Hexamethylenediamine"
- Demands careful resource management and production planning
- Is compatible with Factorio 2.0 but NOT Space Age
This mod is for you if you:
- Have solid understanding of vanilla Factorio mechanics
- Are ready for a new overhaul mod that will takes you a lot longer to complete compared to vanilla
- Have patience for designing completely new production chains and technologies, and handle numerous byproducts and wastes
Mod Compatibility
Current Status: No known compatibility issues with other mods, but comprehensive testing has not been conducted.
Known Incompatibilities: All major overhaul mods should be not compatible. Avoid installing them together with Industrial Rewired.
Recommended Playstyle: Play as a standalone overhaul for the intended experience. Mixing with other major overhaul mods may cause conflicts or diminish the intended complexity. Utility mod such as FNEI and Helmod may help you along the way.
Current plans
- The mod will be finished without Space Age content, and there are plans to fit Space Age into this mod after alpha release.
