Cerys

Fulgora's moon of puzzles. Ancient wrecks embedded in thick ice can seemingly be repaired, including a colossal nuclear reactor that could transform the possibilities on the surface... if you can get it working. Cerys is a complete and polished mod that does not modify the vanilla game in any way, so is easy to include in existing saves.

g [Outdated] First impression of the game mod

I can offer a working scheme for creating a solar "wind" trap to accelerate the fission of uranium into plutonium. :)
But the trajectory of solar wind particles clearly does not work correctly, since the classic parabolic reflector with an attempt to focus into a focus with uranium chests does not work.

I can complain about the difficulty of restoring the Fulgorian reactor.
I would like to receive advice on shielding high-energy particles from the operation of the Fulgorian reactor.
If this is not done, then I suggest using tanks with liquid, for example, with ammonia or heavy water.

I would also like to research the Fulgorian reactor technology to build a pair next to the existing one.

I would also like to get more technologies for the end-game...

I propose to add to the mod the ability to obtain barrels of radioactive liquid when processing nuclear scrap.

Another radical proposal is that when processing uranium scrap, the items come out broken. They can be repaired in a separate Fulgorian building or manually.

Thank-you for your thoughtful suggestions.

  • Shielding gamma radiation using storage tanks full of liquid has been implemented in v0.6.0. I was waiting for the right mechanic, and you found it.
  • Discovery of the optimal solar farm design is pending. Parabolic reflection would occur if the rods are short-range and dense (so that scattering is like colliding from a flat surface), which is not the case here by design.
  • For now, the Fulgoran reactor is intended as a special entity which cannot be cloned or built on other surfaces, etc. The intention is to buff the reactor if it fails to provide enough power for any base on Cerys.
  • A few more late-game technologies are planned down the road, but we haven't decided which.

The recipes on Cerys are aiming to be elegant and efficient, so it is unlikely we will make broken items in nuclear scrap. We might imagine they are fixed in the process of scrap recycling.
