Stellar Foundry — Update 2.2.0
All seven worlds
The Ring Control Node now requires processed materials from all four
vanilla Space Age planets in addition to the three Stellar Foundry worlds:
- Vulcanus — tungsten-carbide (50): refractory ring housing
- Fulgora — holmium-plate (20): electromagnetic relay synchronization
- Gleba — bioflux (20): bio-adhesive structural bonding
- Aquilo — lithium-plate (20): cryogenic energy distribution
Activating the ring requires the full Factorio 2.0 industrial base. The
three custom worlds build the ring. All seven worlds light it up.
Tri-Planet Synthesis
New technology unlocked when all three Stellar Foundry planet science
streams are producing (requires Ferrus Engineering, Caldera Refining, and
Subshell Access). Grants +25% laboratory speed and +5% laboratory
productivity permanently. A milestone message fires on research
completion acknowledging the unified industrial base.
Ring visual assembly
Each placed Stellar Ring Pylon draws a light beam to the previously placed
pylon, building a visible arc across the orbital deck as construction
progresses. Beams step through dim amber → amber → bright amber → stellar
gold at each quarter milestone. The ring closes into a full circuit at 12
pylons. Beams rebuild correctly if pylons are removed and replaced.
Entity distinctiveness
Caldera and Aurelith production machines now have distinct working lights:
- Caldera machines — volcanic red-orange glow when active
- Aurelith machines — cryogenic blue-cyan glow when active
- Planetary Stabilizer — amber glow when processing vent precipitate
Previously all machines inherited the chemical-plant working
visualisation and looked identical at a glance. Each planet's industrial
district now has a recognisable colour signature in the world.
Orbital deck grid
A low-alpha engineering grid renders across the full 96×96 orbital deck
at 8-tile spacing. The deck now reads as a constructed platform rather
than empty space.
Forge Shuttle presence
Forge Shuttles loaded with Forge-Heat-Treated Alloy now glow amber. Empty
shuttles are dark. The fleet status is visible at a glance from across the
orbital deck.
Save compatibility
All saves from 2.0.0 load directly. No migrations required for 2.2.0
content — the new Ring Control Node ingredients apply to new crafts only.
Existing partially-crafted nodes are unaffected.
