There are several other items that are also affected by that naming issue. They are registered with a name internally that might be totally different.
I think it is not a bug itself but rather an inconvenience caused by a early development design decision of giving stuff sensible names for programming and which have changed or improved for usability later on.
For most stuff I tend to use FNEI's left- and right-click functions if you know of a specific product made from the stuff you are looking for or is contained in crafting it. This is not really resolving the issue but is fine as a workaround most of the time.
