1: True. It does not come with the asset the machining-assembler uses and I have not found it yet.
2: Before which technology is researched? teleportation you mean the module warp tech? It has very high bunnyhop and rocket capacity for that reason. A few levels in bunnyhop weight tech and quality bunnyhop engine make it even easier to move science pack to gleba and then rocket it out. For 1x tech multiplier you need very few jumps even without weight tech.

Alright, please disregard my second suggestion (I think allowing item transportation via teleportation would still disrupt the game balance, even with weight limits).

Regarding the shadow issue, it is recommended to refer to the microgravity-assembler from metal-and-stars. It uses exactly the same graphics and has shadows—you may want to reference its code and resources.
