b Loot the dungeon before claiming this hex.

I noticed sometimes the hexes around the dungeons can't be captured and give the message "Loot the dungeon before claiming this hex.", like if you try to claim a dungeon hex. I've only noticed it on 1 hex around the dungeon and on 2 separate dungeons. That is out of the 20+ that I conquered. It doesn't really affect game play though since after you loot the dungeon it can be captured.

I take the last part back, got one hex that can't be claimed. Was beside 2 dungeons. Both now conquered. The 2 normal hexes beside it are claimed.

If you didn't notice any deformities around those dungeons that had an unclaimable hex where it would normally be claimable, then that's a strange bug. Otherwise, I'd expect somehow there could be a hex which looks like it's connected to a dungeon hex but is colored normally and doesn't have dungeon entities on it, which has been a bug I'd see throughout the development of these dungeons. And in that case, under the hood, the dungeon was generated in that hex that looks claimable, but it never generated tiles or entities for it, and attempting to claim it would make it find the dungeon that is supposed to be there at that normal-looking hex, and it would disallow the claim.

Your second message makes it sound like if a normal hex is adjacent to two unique dungeons, it cannot be claimed. I just tested that by finding two dungeons that happened to have been close enough together to test that, and it works just fine.

The chances of it happening seem very small so it's unlikely you will be able to recreate it in the short term. It also might be related to me changing the default size of the hexes.

I uploaded the save to my old domain I don't use anymore at this URL **. (Save was too large for the 10 MB limit of discord that I didn't know existed till now.) The location is at Nauvis -293.6, -557. Since Factorio is deterministic you should be able to recreate it with the map settings, mod settings, and seed in the save. I think.

If you download it, or decide not to for security reasons, let me know so I can clear the link from the comment. (Tried the link myself, but it took copying into the address bar to get it to work, not sure if it's my browser or what.)

If another person posts that same bug report of hexes being unclaimable between dungeons, I'll try to fix it.
