Hextorio - Build in hexagons

Adds dungeons, quests, an economy and trading system, the ability to level up items in the game, and an extra tier for transport belts, belt capacity, modules, quality, spidertrons, spaceship fuel recipes, chemical fuels, bullet magazines, rockets, combat robots, and nauvis ores (endgame). Also divides the planets into hexagons, which contain resources, enemy bases, or profitable trades. Get rich by selling your excess items, buy hexagons, and plunder the powerful dungeons on every planet!

Mod support is a bit tricky for this mod. The primary concern is item value calculation. It would have to be done separately for each mod, unless the recipes added from other mods are "simple" (then it can be calculated automatically). But that's usually not the case. Modded planet support may come much later.

I was thinking of modded support for this as well at one point, but quickly realized that would probably be one of those things where a framework for planet hexes and one for item values would be better, so the community (or mod authors) could share the workload instead of putting everything on this author. But then that would require making the libraries instead so.... I'd rather see the new dungeon update come out and not have the mod be abandoned due to unrealistic expectations that cause the author to drop it eventually.

The mod is still fun as it is, it has potential to do vanilla+ type mods that don't add new resources, but for now you can still use the gameplay in tandem with other mods to support the trading in this one, or this one to support other mods in terms of production chains.

The hexagonal tiles is a fairly simple feature for which to add support for modded planets. The hard part is the item value calculation for the modded items. I may someday split this mod into multiple dependency mods, but I haven't yet because it's kind of cool as a standalone mod.

I'm super grateful for the interest, support, and feedback from this community! As long as there's activity on any of my projects, I will never abandon them.
