How do they work, in terms of generation. Biters ignore the player, and seemingly pollution too.
I walked over to reveal a nest, (large starting area) and 4 burgers ran past me only after that. But the source nest had no pollution at it.

Do the complaints themselves have any mechanical caise, or is it just which biter type.

If biters ignore you and pollution, why bother evicting them in most cases?

Do biters at least phase through walls, or kill them? Why are walls still in the game?

Do trains run biters over?

... Is there actual burocratic damage weapons in the game?

And lastly, tips has human complaints where biter complaints belong, I imagine.

Biter do not run through walls, but if you enclose them they will break em, you can't kill them even with a train. Biter will still absorb pollution and trigger attacks, however the attacks will be biter coming to you to complaint and you have to deal with their complaint otherwise they will block your factory. Dealing with their complaint is the only way of having them despawn, and you want to get rid of nest to avoid having too many biters coming to complaint and clog you factory all the time.

Biter do not care about you, they won't attack and you have no way of inflicting damage to them..

Ah. They might be triggered incorrectly then, because they show up from non polluted nests. Hence my confusion.

Mh that's weird, I didn't change the vanilla behavior of attack groups, I let the attack groups build up like they do in vanilla because of pollution, then I change their goal once they decide to attack but the mod doesn't affect the vanilla attack logic

Hmm. I don't have any other mods installed. Or didn't at the time at least. I'll send the save when I get home, I guess.

Still getting waves despite no pollution being involved. I mean, maybe it has to do with you building near them, but its not a continuous stream or anything.

Ok, So I think the issue is that, when I asked about attacks, we miscommunicated. Having just placed a train station in between two biter bases, I now have a stream of biters being sent to make complaints.

This could get awkward. But I think its actually agroing on me and/or my buildings.

or it could be the new oil mine there. but the attacks, or rather complaints started as soon as I started placing the station, with them moving towards the station, before turning around and going to complain.

Which is clearly correct behavior, but, uh, I don't know exactly how it works. Clearly something other that pollution triggers it, but you just walking into their territory doesn't trigger it, just buildings. I think. And they dont go "attack" on mass either.
