Lunar Landings


A small overhaul which expands the factory onto Nauvis' moon: Luna. Launch reusable rockets to and from Luna at mid-game. Process moon rock into silicon (for circuitry) and oxygen (for diffusing to nearby machines). Generate research data from telescopes, and conserve water from turbines using steam condensers. Unlock advanced aluminium smelting processes and a unique late-game quantum challenge... Compatible with 2.0. Not yet compatible with Space Age: expected by July-August 2025.

i Rocket silo with logistics connection

I'm enjoying the mod and have 142 hours in so far.
I'd like to automate the logistics of sending materials to Luna, however, I find no way to connect the Rocket Silo to the logistics network.
Could you bring over the rocket silo from SE? That in conjunction with aai-signal-transmission would allow Luna to tell the rocket silo what it needs via the logistics network.

The intention is that you just use single-item rockets for shipping materials up and down. Keeps it simple, and no circuitry knowledge required.

For construction materials (machines, belts, etc), you can later on use the mass driver, which automatically sends things based on requests on Luna.

If you want more fine-grained control of your rocket silos, use https://mods.factorio.com/mod/CircuitControlledSilo and https://mods.factorio.com/mod/aai-signal-transmission

Thanks for the suggestion of CircuitControlledSilo.
I run a minimalistic type of base so have a single Rocket Silo on each Nauvis and Luna.

I ran into an issue trying to use RocketControlledSilo.
I don't know if this is something you would like to look into or if I should contact the author of that mod.

I'm continuing this thread here vs bugs since it may not be a bug in your mod and so if anyone else tries to use the mod based on this thread they may be forewarned of the issue.

I'm able to reproduce the crash.
Looking at the log I'm guessing it has to do with the LunarLandings Rocket Silo has a fluid input for fuel and the standard Rocket Silo does not.

Please let me know if this is something you would like to investigate.
I've saved a copy of the log following the crash.

In the meantime, I'll continue hand loading the silo.

Thanks for letting me know. At this point, I’ve moved development of LL to 2.0 so I won’t be going back and fixing compatibility in 1.1. If you are still feeling the need for this compat in 2.0, let me know and I might take a look then.

For now, I’d suggest building more rocket silos… one per item you want to automate sending up is suggested.
