i How are you supposed manage distribution priority for jobs? Let us using circuits on houses to shut them down based on depot contents.

So, I have a house that makes civies, a house that turns civies into labourers, one that turns them into farmers and one that turns them into lab assistants, as well as a research lab for red science.

The problem I've run into is that the farmhouse is eating all the labourers, and none of them go to the lab or the lab assistant house.

As a result my depot is overflowing with farmers and I'm not producing any science or lab assistants.

At first I thought "Ok, I'll wire the farmhouse to stop working if the depot has more than 3 farmers.", but you can't wire houses, so what is the intended way of handling this?

I guess this is also a suggestion, let us wire houses with logic to shut them down based on depot contents?

Don't house run on fuel at least? You can do something with that ...

The problem you're running into is because there's no cap farmers the colony will keep producing them. Once the farming building attempts to output a farmer but has nowhere to send them it will stop producing the same way any assembler would. The issue is the Depo: Your colony is going to completely fill the depo with farmers before it moves on to other occupations.

You can set the item slots on the depo the same way you do with train cars. Put a cap on each type of person you need and fill the rest of the slots with nonsense filler (I use the starting pistol). Do this so that the depo can only hold a few of each required occupation and you should see things start to sort itself out.
