By the way, from the preview image, it seems that when it's working, only the ring's ground section casts a shadow, while the surrounding ground parts don't. Could this be an error?

Also, when it teleports, could the light it emits illuminate the surrounding darkness? It would make it look more harmonious.

The entity just does not yet have a separate shadow animation texture, that would be cast outside the entity. Not a bug, just not implemented.

The animation itself is rendered as glow so it will show up in darkness and has slight godray effect outside.
However yes, this effect is very limited and a proper animation texture for area illumination is something to add in the future.
