Got a mix of uncommon, rare and legendary machines sitting in storage? This mod helps put them to use without making a separate upgrade planner for each quality.
QoL mod, no cheats.
Upgrade buildings and modules using the best quality you have in stock. Works with blueprints and copy-paste, with optional automatic checks as more items become available.
Select your buildings with the Quality Upgrade Planner and it checks which replacements your construction robots can access. It uses the highest quality available first, then works down through the remaining qualities. Anything you don't have a better replacement for stays as it is.
For example, if you select 100 common miners and have 12 rare miners and 28 uncommon miners available, it orders those 40 upgrades and leaves the other 60 alone.
It only changes quality. An assembler 2 stays an assembler 2, and a speed module 3 stays a speed module 3.
Open the controls from the quality button beside your inventory, or use the shortcut bar.
Left-drag over buildings for a one-time upgrade check.
Shift + left-drag checks them now and keeps watching for better replacements. If you get more high-quality items later, the mod can order further upgrades without you selecting everything again.
Right-drag stops watching the selected buildings and cancels the mod's pending upgrade requests. It doesn't undo upgrades that have already happened.
You can pause automatic checks from the panel. Robots will still finish orders they already received.
With blueprint upgrading enabled, newly placed blueprints and Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V placements use better-quality buildings and requested modules where stock is available. Your saved blueprint stays unchanged.
You can also enable continued monitoring. A blueprint built with uncommon machines today can get rare or legendary replacements later when you have them.
Blueprint upgrading and continued monitoring have separate toggles, so you can use either a one-time check or ongoing upgrades.
Modules
Installed modules can be upgraded even if the building itself stays at its current quality. Buildings already at legendary quality can still receive better modules.
Module upgrades keep the same module type and tier. They don't fill empty slots or change your module setup.
Uncheck “Upgrade modules” if you only want to upgrade buildings.
The panel has building icons with checkboxes, so you can choose which machines the planner affects.
Production machines, mining buildings, pumps, labs and rocket silos are enabled by default. Infrastructure such as belts, inserters, power poles and lights is off by default. Agricultural towers are also off.
You can add individual include or exclude rules for more control. For example, you can allow medium power poles while leaving other poles alone.
Watched buildings are checked every 120 game seconds by default. You can change this to between 60 and 120 seconds.
Checks focus on buildings you've selected or placed with blueprint upgrading enabled. The mod doesn't repeatedly search your whole factory. Once all enabled upgrades on a watched building reach maximum quality, it stops watching that building.
You still need the replacement items and construction robots to deliver them. The mod uses stock from logistics networks covering the target, plus your inventory when your personal construction robots can reach it.
It doesn't pull items from other planets, disconnected networks or ordinary chests outside logistics coverage.
Vehicles, trains, tiles, underground belts and construction through space-platform hubs are not supported.
