Proliferation

A machine faction that builds. The Replicators mine a matter node, run a real factory, research their own technology, and expand with construction robots. Their escalation is a factory on your map, so you can scout it, starve it, and take it.

First off, I would suggest backing up your save, just in case. I can't guarantee it works with any mod, though I tried my best to avoid general causes for the game to break due to compatibility issues.

It depends if you have Space Age or not.

The current version (0.35.1) in vanilla has a decently powerful faction, would cause you some trouble, especially if they start eating the materials on your belts and growing in numbers because of that. Also, capturing your chests will make them explode based on how full the chest was. the more you explore new chunks, the more bases will spawn, and the faster they will grow and advance in tech. They will become much more powerful the more you let them research, as they have infinite techs, just like the players.

With Space Age, the stage 4 bases get an upgrade with Space Age weapons, there's a new type of "space ship" (custom scripted asteroid) that spawns an attack on your space platforms (comes in all 4 standard sizes). You also get a planet that has stage 5+ bases, that if you let grow, will become a serious threat (expect waves of 1000+ walkers from different directions at once). I also plan to add a boss fight soon. Going to the planet itself unlocks some, hopefully, fun (I had a lot of fun with them myself) techs. Should be perfectly compatible with old saves.

i did put it in my save and it works well, i explored nauvis my dead planet that i dont use and there are infact on it, i might put stuff around there base and observe them for a while this mod is very cool and in the future will there bases automatically increase in size?

Really glad you like it!

They already do grow. All bases start at stage 1, and they research the same way as the player (if you look a bit, you should see a round vaguely lab-colored dome building in the bottom right of the base that is being fed flasks). If you have a scanner unlocked or user /proliferation-research command, you can see the state of their research and what max stage they have unlocked. There are another 3 stages for the bases on Nauvis (and other planets except Hala), into which they naturally grow by building out of alloy + components that they get from the central matter node that they have.

Hala cities start with stage 5 by default, and will research base wings to grow as well, which expand them with much stronger defenses that improve each other. For example: growing a railgun wing will expand the entire base with railgun defenses, growing an economy wing will supercharge walker production and provide ammo for the other wings' special ammo requirements like railgun ammo or rockets. Hala cities follow a random build order once they unlock all wings (at first they will likely build railguns first, but later one you'll see more diverse orders... if you survive that long...). Well, the "survive" is a bit of a joke, as they will become threats when they unlock the liquimetal wing, which produces walkers and creates the actual waves, so you have time to set up a defense until then.
