TERRA NAUVIS

SAME SPACE AGE, NEW CHALLENGE

Complete overhaul.

Nauvis has everything. Everything is on Nauvis.

Early-bird release. Tweaks will be made

The Unified Ecosystem

Welcome to the ultimate survival crucible. This overhaul consolidates the entire Space Age progression onto a single, hyper-dense, and highly contested Nauvis grid, forcing you to fight for every tile of territory. * All Planets, One Map: Every required resource from the expanded universe is now native to the Nauvis substrate. * Biological Warzone: All enemy variants, including mini demolishers, share the same ecosystem and aggressively defend their territory. * Dynamic Threat Scaling: The local fauna features leveled enemies that relentlessly escalate in power as your pollution footprint expands.

Engineered Friction (Challenge Mode)

This is not a casual sandbox. The environment is unforgiving, and the baseline physics of the grid demand absolute precision, caution, and structural respect from your engineering. * Pave the World: Buildings can no longer be ghosted onto raw dirt; physical foundations (stone brick or better) are strictly required. * Volatile Logistics: Petroleum products will catch fire and explode if mishandled, and military science packs are highly unstable. * Advanced Manufacturing: Standard science progression is heavily gated behind strict void and glass bottle manufacturing chains.

Built-In Quality of Life

To help you survive the absolute brutality of the overhauled grid, baseline movement and interaction mechanics have been significantly upgraded to keep your momentum moving forward. * Acrobatic Traversal: Press Spacebar to physically jump over environmental hazards and dense factory infrastructure. * Advanced Mining: Execute an immediate Auto-Mine sweep simply by holding Ctrl+Shift+Right-Click. * Integrated Standards: Essential movement and interaction tweaks are baked directly into the core code.

FAQ

Q: Known bugs/performance issues?

A: Bugs are fixed as quickly as I can find them!

  • The only known performance bug happens when new players are joining the game and the map generator must scan for suitable start locations. I've already mitigated this, and there isn't really anything else that can be done besides increase the time a player must wait before rejecting a start location. So the game might hitch a little bit very briefly when new players are joining and selecting start locations.

Q: How does the game work?

A: Terra Nauvis Multiplayer adds diplomacy, economy, and challenge mechanics to Factorio Space Age.

- Upon loading into the game, players can either join a team or create one and be assigned their own start location, starting resources, tech tree, and starting equipment.
- The host, upon starting the game, will initialize the first set of spawn locations. Once 3 spawn locations are ready (each one taking up to a minute or so), the Create Team button will become available.
- Rather than generate new start locations on demand, Terra Nauvis pre-generates 4 potential starting locations as a buffer, with each one taking up to ~1 minute to prepare. Players can only enter the spawn selection screen when 1) there are no other players using it; and 2) when at least 3 starts have been prepared. Start locations are then backfilled into the buffer as they are used. This means that players that are just joining for the first time will not be hit with a massive lag spike as the game tries to render them a decent spawn location.

Q: How does trading work?

A: There are multiple ways to trade in Terra Nauvis Multiplayer.

- You can trade with other players by listing items and your asking price in the Sell menu inside the Supply Depot. The Buy menu lists items for sale by other players. The Supply Depot costs steel chests, which require steel processing, which is unlocked by automation science.
- You can buy directly from the global market (+/-15% markup) using the FluxMart and AutoBuy tabs. Set a target amount and the Supply Depot will maintain that item in that amount as long as there are funds available in your account and there is market availability. SUPPLY IS NOT UNLIMITED! The market CAN run out. Do not depend solely on the market for raw resources.
- You can sell directly to the global market (at 30% value) by directly inserting items into the Supply Depot.
- Automated deliveries are a planned update.

Q: Which hardmode features are enabled by default?

A: Terra Nauvis Multiplayer integrates the following hard-mode features and additional challenges:

- Most buildings require foundations of at least stone brick in order to be placed.
- Buildings cannot be placed outside your team's Territory. You must extend your Territory by expanding your existing base outward. Outposts (protected radars) can be placed to claim distant resources or strategic locations.
- Map view is disabled until radar is unlocked. Radar is locked behind Advanced Circuits.
- The player's armor (not inventory or corpse) is destroyed on player death and must be replaced.
- Enemies are stronger and smarter. They will progress in level based on the number of researches completed by all players. This is aside from their normal evolution progression, which is unchanged.
- Glass bottles are required for researching all sciences, making glass a required early loop. Some sciences require Void Glass (upgrade to Glass) to be properly contained.
- Military science bottles will explode if not used in a timely manner (1 hour spoil time)
- Automation science requires Lumber, making wood a required early loop.

Q: What perks are included? What else is recommended?

A: Terra doesn't hate you. There are perks included.

- Early mech armor (moves slowly, small grid, can't cross oceans)
- Early copper bots (green science)
- Auto-mine anything with CTRL+SHIFT+Right-click
- Squeeze Through and Jump are both listed as optional dependencies and are highly recommended.
