this looks something different, i hope you will use 2.1 pretty soon.
i have read read HP Lovecraft Crytonoimicon, but mostly it was some thoughts for the movie Event Horizon.

Maybe some idea...
if you could research some warpdrive (like Event Horizon) using the rift technology which will work very very fast but need some very narrow settings and such to work ?
maybe you are loosing some (much) sanity in processs of using this warpdrive.

Your idea is awesome. I'm still brainstorming good space mechanics to add, but with 2.1 coming up soon, I'm currently getting everything ready for the update first. After that, I'll get back to adding new features to the mod. I really like your concept though, and I'll definitely try to adapt it!
