Works beautifully with 2 of my other mods. Fire Lights and Distant Misfires

Heavily inspired Space Age version of Clockwork and Nightfall which aren't updated to 2.0.

NEW 0.10 Experimental Feature

  • Added an experimental performance friendly night only attack mode option. This mainly affects Nauvis and Gleba but will adapt to other planets when they have hostile factions. No tick based or UPS intensive logic.

  • Configurable diurnal (day/night) cycle length.
  • Configurable peak darkness.
  • Performance friendly night only attack mode setting.
  • Optional night only mode.
  • Space platforms get darker as they get further away from the sun.
  • Custom LUT visual weights for the Space Age planets. Vulcanus and Fulgora keep their hue and do not get as dark as Nauvis.
  • Built in compatibility support for other mods that add new planets and surfaces.
  • Many more features coming.

Quirks

The space platform modding API doesn't currently expose information needed to track where it is, so space darkness is only updated when stationary above a planet.

Another quirk is that it is not currently easy to decouple darkness from solar power so at Aquilo distances solar energy production in space is slightly worse.
