Configurable Nukes & ICBMs

Makes most/many aspects of the atomic bomb configurable, and affected by quality, as well as allows for the weaponization of rocket-silos. Allows for custom payloads created from almost any ammo or capsule item, as well as introduces dedicated warhead payloads (atomic, "Rods from God", Jericho, Mjölnir), ICBMs (Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles), IPBMs (Interplanetary Ballistic Missiles), and ISBMs (Interstellar Ballistic Missiles). Why shouldn't rocket-silo rockets be used offensively?

FAQ

How to launch an ICBM?

Prerequisites:

  • At least the ICBMs technology has been researched
  • A fully constructed rocket in either a rocket-silo or a ballistic rocket-silo
  • At least one payload-vehicle (or valid warhead if using the Use legacy launch system setting), loaded into the above rocket-silo rocket
  • Something that offends you, i.e. biters or pentapods (something to target, in seriousness)

Manual:

If the above prerequisites are ready, either manually select the target destination with the ICBM-remote (available as a shortcut after researching the ICBMs technology, or from pressing ALT + SHIFT + T (default hotkey, configurable)).

Circuit:

If the above prerequisites are ready, connect the circuit-network direcly to the rocket-silo (ballistic or otherwise). Once connected, a new GUI window should appear to the right of the default rocket-silo GUI; this new window should list the following signals:

  • Launch: Defines which signal indicates a launch should be attempted (default of 'green-check' signal)
  • X: Defines which signal indicates the X coordinate of the target (default of 'X' signal)
  • Y: Defines which signal indicates the Y coordinate of the target (default of 'Y' signal)
  • I: (For multi-surface strikes) Defines which signal indicates the surface index - determines the surface to target (default of of 'I' signal)
    • The needed I value for a given surface can be determined from the value listed next the the surface/planet's name available from the dropdown list in the GUI window

Caveats:

  • Regular rocket-silos cannot target different surfaces than the one they are on (outside of "orbit" surfaces) by default. Can be toggled via a runtime setting.

  • Multi-surface launches/targeting will not work if the target surface has not been discovered/generated yet.
