Configurable Nukes & ICBMs

Makes most/many aspects of the atomic bomb configurable, and affected by quality, as well as allows for the weaponization of rocket-silos. Allows for custom payloads created from almost any ammo or capsule item, as well as introduces dedicated warhead payloads (atomic, "Rods from God", Jericho, Mjölnir), ICBMs (Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles), IPBMs (Interplanetary Ballistic Missiles), and ISBMs (Interstellar Ballistic Missiles). Why shouldn't rocket-silo rockets be used offensively?

Hey there,
I cant seem to figure out how to send off payloads or anything, when i send them into "orbit" nothing happens afterwards, I can send them to platforms but theyll just end up in the inventory of cargohold.
also managed to crash the game while blueprint dragging the icbm remote while a normal rocket was in process of launching.

ive attached some screenshots in the hopes theyre helpful.

Hello! Apologies for the confusion and the error, but thanks for the report! Additionally, many thanks for the attached screenshot!

While I can't seem to recreate it, the runtime error while dragging the ICBM remote is certainly a bug/typo on my part (looking at the history of the code, it's actually been there for nearly 11 months! Sincerely appreciate your bringing it to my attention) - hope to have a fix released as soon as reasonably possible.

As far as launching payloads, the given rocket-silo/ballistic-rocket-silo needs to have the Automatic requests from space platforms checkbox disabled. With that, it should be as simple as either selecting an area with the ICBM remote (it targets the center point of the selection-box), just simply clicking with the ICBM remote in hand, or as explained here via circuit-network signals

With respect to launching items to "orbit" (assuming you're referring to the "Orbit" selection from the rocket destination dropdown list - my apologies if I am mistaken), CN doesn't presently handle such launches, i.e. such events are filtered/ignored in the code. As such, from the Factorio Lua API: defines.cargo_destination.orbit Cargo pods with orbit destination are destroyed when ascent is completed.

Do let me know if you have any further questions or encounter any additional issues, quirks, or points of friction.

And again, thank you for the report and the attached screenshot!

With the release of version 0.9.13, the above error should (hopefully) be fixed.

Do let me know if you have any questions or encounter any further issues.

Thanks again for the report!

well, user error seemed fault 1, glad to have unintentionally found a bug atleast.
unsure if this was the actual cause, but i had the IBRS firing a payload veh. into orbit (manually and thus destroying it without me knowing that at that time), and a normal rocket pad launching with the same intentions and immidiatly started spam dragging the icbm remote. these launches were manual and all actions were done as fast as possible, thats when i managed, to (quite reliably due to me saving Immidiatly after clicking launch) crash the game.

youre quite right about pointing out the orbit launch. In my head was M.I.R.V by klonan, which required you to "load" warheads into space which you could then "request" (read fire) onto targets simularly to the artillery remote. Hindsight 20/20 this is ICBM, which are ofcours groundfired straight to target...

so it shouldve been:
1, place silo.
2, get rocket ready for launch.
3, insert desired payload (-vehicle)
4, select area/Target. / insert Target data over circuit

I was adding a step in between 3 and 4 being, Launch rocket to orbit to arm armament.

For the automatic firing (ive been playing with this while writing this)
using the map ping to find coords works well, (see image) altho i had to rebind ping. (probably another keybind taking priority. factorio issue not yours)

thanks for the reply, happy to help and thanks FOR the help.

Edit, Perhaps an added message in chat when dragging the remote while no rocket is ready to launch could clear up my mistake?
basicly: No launchpad (with payload) available for target position!
when dragging/firing the icbm remote when nothing is being able to being launched.
