Adds massive cargo ships to the game, that function similarly to trains. Also adds deep sea oil, oil platforms, tanker ships, train bridges and other water based content.
The small boat is wayyy to slow to be useful as transportation. I would much rather travel via landfill or the hovercraft mod. I would suggest tripling the speed when not being used as a train.
i might consider increasing the speed a little, definitely not tripling it. The boat is already pretty fast in comparison to real world boats. In the end this whole mod boils down to aesthetics - just using landfill and trains in most cases is probably a lot faster and easier than creating a separate, slow network of ships.
And as you mentioned, there are options like the hovercraft.
