by knniDE

Adds 3 belt tiers past Turbo: Hyper (90/s), Extreme (120/s), and Ultimate (150/s). Includes splitters and underground belts, with loader support for multiple mods. Lane splitters are provided automatically when the Lane Balancers mod is installed.

Beyond Belts is the rewritten and renamed continuation of AdvancedBeltsSA by Buggi,
which itself was a Space Age fork of Advanced Belts by Warnone.
⚠️ Not a drop-in replacement - see the migration notes below if you're coming from either of those.

About

Adds three new tiers of transport belts past vanilla Turbo:

Tier Speed (default) Crafted on
Hyper 90 items/s Vulcanus (metallurgy)
Extreme 120 items/s Vulcanus (metallurgy)
Ultimate 150 items/s Aquilo (cryogenics, zero-g)

Each tier ships a transport belt, splitter, and underground belt. All speeds (15–180 items/s) and underground-belt reach values are individually configurable in the startup settings.

Recipes use Space Age materials. The Ultimate tier requires cryogenic crafting and zero gravity (Aquilo), uses fluoroketone-cold, and disables productivity bonuses on the fluid output to model a recycled coolant loop.

Optional mod compatibility

Lane splitters / balancers

Vanilla Factorio 2.0 does not expose any visible lane-splitter items. Beyond Belts therefore does not ship its own - but if you install Lane Balancers by Quezler, Beyond Belts automatically registers a matching lane splitter for every tier through that mod's public hook. You get Quezler's recipe scheme (2× output, halved item weight, doubled stack size, splitter-derived texture) and proper next_upgrade chaining for free, with our tier-coloured icons.

Migrating from AdvancedBeltsSA / AdvancedBeltsSA-VL

The v3 line is a full rewrite with a clean prototype namespace (bb- prefix), reworked tier names (Hyper / Extreme / Ultimate), modern integrations, and a tier-driven internal architecture. As a result it is not a drop-in replacement - every belt entity has a new prototype name, so existing belts placed by older versions cannot be migrated automatically.

If you have an existing save:

  • Continue playing it on either the original AdvancedBeltsSA by Buggi or my last v2.3.6 release AdvancedBeltsSA-VL (deprecated, kept available for saves only).
  • Or switch to Beyond Belts and re-place the belts - uninstall the old mod, install beyond-belts, and replace each existing belt/splitter/underground with its new-tier equivalent. Items in the inventory will be lost

For new playthroughs, install beyond-belts directly. Add lane-balancers if you want lane splitters for every tier (vanilla's and beyond-belts).
