A materials expanded DLC that expands the overall tiers of the game without overhauling the base game, should be fine to use with most mods, only concern is for balance/etc etc. Heavily inspired from darkstar utilities. Has an expansion of nearly every aspect of the game.
Dive into a new extensive branch of technologies, develop and research ways to use new machines, new methods, new recipes, new materials, to your advantage, this is, SPLR.
Includes seven main modules:
Simpler Refinement (use and breakdown oil to produce richer ore)
Specialized Modules (specific modules that are expensive but offer heavy tradeoffs and extreme bonuses.)
Expanded manufacturing (an entire new tree of resources stemming from the base game resources/items.)
Expanded Recipes (expands the recipe tree to include balanced forms of ulterior forms of production.)
Extended Buildings (15+ unique buildings such as beacons and belts, quarries that all are well thought.)
Unique Machines & Equipment (7+ unique equipment and over 6 specialized machines
Utility & Logistics Extension ( 4 seperate tiers for both utility and logistics, extending a whole new branch of resources stemming from vanilla.)
Note: heavily heavily heavily inspired from darkstar utilites, i have always wanted to make a mod which expanded upon the essentials of game opening up to a plethora of new possibilities, without forcing the player to use it, this was and still is my original idea for the mod, something which expands the game without changing it; without forcing itself upon the player, it is a utility, a tool, for the player to use and expand upon.
Another thing to note, i've often seen mods introduce plenty of methods and items designed for only one or two purposes, this in my idea, is against the natural ideology of factorio, where one item is used again and again even for the later objects/items, it's enjoyable and gives a sense of actuality, in this sense, i have strived to achieve this type of universal abundance of usage, where all though easily interchangeable with different methodologies, items are not fake; they do not serve soley one purpose.
eventually as you advanced, the usage and expansion of methods will broaden alongside the basis of resources, as the means of production expands so does the methods you can use to refine such, to fabricate and to manufacture.
this is a love child mod <3 (also um, as such, i should note i am not experienced, i do not have formal knowledge about lua either, many of the building sprites used are heavily edited versions of other mods which allow me using it)
