Lunar Landings

A small overhaul which expands the factory onto Nauvis' moon: Luna. Launch reusable rockets to and from Luna at mid-game. Process moon rock into silicon (for circuitry) and oxygen (for diffusing to nearby machines). Generate research data from telescopes, and conserve water from turbines using steam condensers. Unlock advanced aluminium smelting processes and a unique late-game quantum challenge... Compatible with 2.0. Not yet compatible with Space Age: expected by July-August 2025.

i remove or reduce the crafting speed of rocket control units

luna colonisation is taking so long solely because of how slow rocket control units take to craft. considering the base game removed them entirely i think its worth considering tweaking them so early luna progression isnt so stunted

Thanks for the feedback. This part of the balance is a little tricky since now that rockets have a weight limit you can't just send 20 stacks of buildings in a single rocket like you could in LL 1.1. I suspect rockets need to be made even cheaper, either directly, or as you suggest by making RCUs faster/easier or removing them. Are you recycling rocket parts? That is a big part of making rockets cheaper to launch :)

ive launched around a dozen or so rockets but i havent gotten a single used rocket part. is that a bug?

Have a look at the tech tree :) I was hoping that having a trigger tech right there would explain clearly to the player that rocket part return is a thing, and how it works, as well as prevent the player from progressing too far without unlocking it.

But if people are launching more than 3-4 rockets without noticing it, that's not ideal. Maybe it should just be unlocked from the start, and I could make the returned cargo pods accumulate on the ground if no rocket return pads are placed, which creates alerts to tell the player what is happening? I liked that I could write an explanation in the technology description, but I guess I could move that to the Rocket silo tech itself too.

i have a reuseable rocket recovery bay placed down and it hasnt been filled at all during my rocket launches. the tech says

"Launched rockets return some of their rocket parts back to the Reusable rocket recovery pad for recycling"
