Despite being in the age of fusion, it bothers me that we're still launching chemical-fueled rockets and leaving 70% of the rocket behind.
I've always had the idea of using electromagnetism to launch probes.
More specifically, the probe launch would be entirely electrical, with a wide variety of methods for manufacturing the projectile body.
For example, a low-capacity, mass-produced projectile made from cheap materials, or a higher-capacity projectile with higher energy costs using more expensive alloys, or a specific projectile body for specific products.
Even more ambitiously, we could launch the projectile directly to planets at sufficiently close distances with few minutes delay.
Even though its too challenging to make, i would love to see an alternate space logistics other than teleporting mods.
