Arcanyx is the home of voidcrafting, prismorphing, and other made-up fancy sounding words.
Upon landing, you'll find that wood is the only familiar resource available to you. You'll need to mine prismite to convert it into other resources, as well as voidstone to build voidforges. Once you've smelted some refined prismite and voidcrafted some metals in order to make mythril, you can build more advanced voidworks, and unlock further production techniques with the five new science packs added by Voidcraft and Iridescent Industry, like liquefying prismite, creating coherence infusion, scribing incantations in the scriptorium, and eventually mastering unshaped void itself to build the mighty iridescent voidworks. Or maybe you would rather make legendary disgusting slime.
Arcanyx doesn't have any swarms of giant insectoids, but if you start polluting you will quickly wear out your welcome here just the same. Arcanyx is a magical place, and is home to spirits of the planet who will punish you for polluting their pristine homeworld. If you're giving off too much pollution, you'll find your assembling machines cursed, your belts clogged, your inserters rotated, and other bothersome consequences. You'll have to invest in some of Arcanyx's new technology to keep things clean.
Arcanyx is based on Voidcraft and Iridescent Industry, so, aside from pollution mitigation, the main logistical challenges you'll be focused on are sushi belts and fluid handling. If you're familiar with those two mods, you'll feel quite at home, though Arcanyx also adds incantations and planet-morphing technologies to keep things fresh.
Adding Arcanyx to an existing game that doesn't currently use Voidcraft and Iridescent Industry shouldn't create too many problems, but you can choose in the settings if you want mythril to be required (necessitating a visit to Arcanyx) for nuclear reactors. And of course, make a backup save just in case. If you're already using those mods, the tech tree and a lot of recipes will change, so you should either be early enough in the game you haven't invested heavily in voidcrafting and prismite or late enough in the game you can quickly go to Arcanyx and unlock things. On the other hand, if you want to start a new game on Arcanyx, Any Planet Start is supported.
Arcanyx is designed around the unique mechanics of Voidcraft and Iridescent Industry, so these mods are essential! You might also like Bluetonium if you enjoy additional nuclear content. Telogistics is another optional addition that is integrated into Arcanyx's tech tree. Scrappy Industry and Crushing Industry by SafTheLamb are recommended mods to enhance the sushi belt chaos. Saf's Alloy Smelting and Cupric Asteroids are also well supported.
Arcanyx is currently not compatible with Void Block, but if you want a similar experience, you can start on Arcanyx and modify the map generation settings to be mostly water with very few resources.
