Bluetonium

It adds some stuff, but most importantly it makes the plutonium blue.

I like Nuclear Fuel quite a bit... except for the bright orange plutonium.

This mod changes the color of plutonium and the associated fuel cells and technologies to a softer blue color. It has the option to tint the reactor glow according to fuel type, and will also tint the centrifuge during reprocessing if you use Centrifuge Tint System or some other mod that supports centrifuge tinting.

The mod can be used in a purely cosmetic mode but you can also enable a few changes in mechanics designed to expand and complement Nuclear Fuel. These changes are mostly balanced around using Nuclear Fuel in "Alternative" mode. I am open to support for "Classic" mode but I don't use it personally.

If you enable mechanics changes the mod makes the following additions:

  • Spent MOX fuel is not usually recycled. So in the game a MOX fuel cell is now a separate item, and MOX fuel cells cannot themselves sustain a self-sufficient nuclear fuel cycle.

  • Thorium is added. It is usually a byproduct of other mining, so you can get it by putting stone in a centrifuge. Thorium + U-235 or Pu creates a thorium fuel cell that, after it is used up, you can reprocess to get more U-235. (In real life you'd get U-233, but I wanted to keep it simple)

The mod should work both with vanilla and Krastorio 2.

If you like this mod, but you don't like building green circuit factories, you might also like Nuketronics.
