Does it replace space platforms?
No. It's a fast, direct way to send urgent cargo (up to 1 ton per rocket) between planets. Platforms are still the way to move large amounts.
When can I build it?
It's endgame: it's unlocked after the cryogenic science pack, and the rocket parts are made on Vulcanus, Fulgora and Aquilo.
How do I send something?
Build a landing pad on the planet that needs the items and set its logistic requests. Build a simple rocket silo on the planet that has them, inside a logistic network. The silo gathers what the pad is missing, launches, and the rocket lands on the pad a few minutes later.
Does it respect quality?
Yes. Request rare plates and rare plates are sent; whatever goes in the rocket arrives with the same quality.
My silo doesn't launch.
It never takes off without somewhere to go. Check that a landing pad on another planet is missing something, that the silo's destination is Automatic or that pad, and that the silo's logistic network has the items.
Where can I see my rockets in flight?
In the map's surface list, among the platforms, with their destination and the time left; and in the silo and landing pad windows.
What happens to the rocket after landing?
It's taken apart into rocket scrap. Put the scrap in a recycler to get 1 to 3 rocket parts back.
Can I make them faster?
Yes, with the infinite Simple rocket speed research (+15 km/s per level).
Will it work with Factorio 2.1?
Yes, it will be updated when 2.1 is out as stable.
I found a bug / I have an idea.
