The Rubia planet briefing tells you that you need to be able to withstand āa large amount of impact damageā to land on Rubia.
This is not flavor text. Iām not being coy with some abstract āimpactā mechanic. There is quite literally some amount of impact damage you will be taking when attempting to land on Rubia. And if your equipment does not have what it needs for you to survive said impact damage, then you will die. The difficulty level will change this threshold, but it will not make it go away.
The hint in the planet briefing says, if you can research āPlanet Discovery Rubiaā, then you already have all the technology you need, to craft everything you need. The converse is: Any technologies not required for Planet Discovery Rubia are not required to land.
Also, Rubia gives you a warning as you travel there if that journey will result in your death. This warning also crucially tells you how close you are to satisfying the requirement to land safely.
I hope this helps.
