First of all want to say I do really enjoy this planet, I don't want these suggestions to come off as me hating the experience, just finding some pain points as a result of trying to expand science (1k spm is my target, so nothing super crazy but also not a tiny amount). Also for reference I am also playing with Arig installed, but not Tellus.
In trying to expand science, I'm finding that the sciences just take a TON of incoming resources in order to make any reasonable amount, even with t3 legendary prod modules in every single building in the process. For polishing science, this honestly feels ok, as mining a massive amount of gems and polishing them all up is a fairly straightforward process, and while you need a lot of buildings to make it work, that seems like a reasonable requirement.
The refraction science feels a bit different though. Only two of the five ingredients for this science can be fully made on the planet itself, the berylium nitride and pure light. For each other ingredient I need to ship in at least something from offworld to create it, and in several cases the thing needed offworld is pretty inefficient to ship. For the nanoscale lenses for example I need glass panels, and either raw diamonds or petroleum gas to make raw diamonds (I went with the latter). For simulating units, I need blue circuits (or sulfiric to make them), silica (or more sulfiric to make), fiberoptic cables (needing either plastic or more petroleum to make the plastic), and superconductors, meaning all 4 of its ingredients need something from offworld to make. And finally ruby lasers require heavy glass, and if you want at all efficient carbon nanotubes, carbon fiber (though this mainly stems from what seems like a bug where the normal carbon nanotube recipe does not allow for prod modules).
I'm sure you know what's in the items you made, but I wanted to list them out to show just how much there really is needed. While there's some overlaps, and some items I think 100% make sense to need to transport, like superconductors, the overall resource requirements from offworld specifically feel extremely high, much higher than aquilo even.
I'm not sure if you are taking in feedback even, which is fine if not, but I want to offer my thoughts in case:
1. Heavy glass should be producible on Hyarion. While this would then mean tungsten plates have to be shipped, the existence of the heavy glass productivity tech means it would be far more efficient to ship even more glass panels from Arig, plus a bit of tungsten, to be able to simply make all the heavy glass needed.
2. Small steam vents on the planet surface - the lack of water, steam, and any form of oil product is a bit crippling and results in many of the deliveries that must take place. It's pretty clear there was no oil available for a reason, but I can't help but feel if I had some small access to steam, that would then let me make water, and with that + shipped in petroleum (or light/heavy if I wanted to crack it on the planet for some reason), I could make sulfiric acid for both the blue circuits and silica, as well as plastic for the fiber optics cable and red circuits (to make the blue circuits); and that would alleviate a LOT of the strain on off-world deliveries. It would eliminate the need to ship in sulfiric acid, silica, blue circuits, plastic, or red circuits, while still needing a fair bit of setup to ACTUALLY bypass those deliveries (i.e. I imagine it would still be more efficient to just ship in all the various materials when first playing the planet, but that's just my speculation).
One other unrelated thing: Getting legendary berylium plates is close to impossible without sinking tens of thousands of them. Since the only items that use the plates get created in space, you can't do an upcycling loop (maybe you can and I'm just too dumb to figure it out though). I don't really have any suggestions related to this, and maybe it's less of an issue with Tellus installed as well, but it is really rough making a legendary space manufacturer as it is (and also to be fair a single legendary one of those can produce an absolute insane amount of science so ultimately I don't need THAT much of the stuff).
Once again want to say I do really like both your planets I've played so far, that's the only reason I'm bothering to write all this up even!
