I do not know if this is intentional, but when using the Replicate Shard recipe, both the catalytic shard AND the bonus shard are at the same spoilage percentage as the input shard.
This mean that it is impossible to have the recipe be self-sustaining and only needing to be jumpstarted, as ALL the shards that it produces will spoil at the exact same time.
For reference, on Gleba the eggs & bacterias breeding recipes output their at 100% freshness, allowing the recipes to self-sustain itself as long as it keep crafting. But the Shard Duplication Recipe will inevitably die because the spoilage timer can only ever go down, which is made even worse by its 30 second spoil time.
